Vintage 2011 - Cloudy - Rain

Picking was undertaken with much angst. The overall crop was average in size and we picked about 46 tonnes. But the fruit would have lacked the roundness of flavour which sunshine brings. We shall see?

We dumped the Riesling.

Our second vintage of Pinot Meunier has been made into a blend with Pinot Noir. We are looking for a name for this wine? Very appealing at the moment.

The vineyard climate measures approximately 1150 degree days. The soil is loam over clay and the vineyard is irrigated by drip line.

Constant rain and warm weather have delivered a season frought with danger. Close attention is being paid to potential outbreaks of powdery mildew.
