Vintage 2010 - Ups and Downs

Picking was undertaken without too much angst. The overall crop was average in size and we picked about 46 tonnes.  Picking happened quickly with the final pick completed by Easter Friday.  Climate change - hotter consistent weather?

We had a bit of wasp damage in one variety but  without much loss of fruit.
We had a nasty patch of botrytis in the Riesling.

Our first vintage of Pinot Meunier will be made into a rose table wine this year.

Pruning 2010

We have commenced pruning under a sky of occasional rain and on some very frosty mornings. Lake Roderick (used for irrigation) is full.
